Terms of Service

The rules of the bench — for the store, the simulator and the AI Builder.

1. Acceptance

By using sensbench.com, the simulator at app.sensbench.com, or by placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Refund & Returns Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Accounts

You may browse, simulate and buy without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to register or purchase.

3. Orders, Pricing & Payment

• Prices are listed in USD and may change without notice; the price at the time of your order applies.
• Payment is processed securely by Stripe. An order is accepted when we email the shipping confirmation, not at checkout.
• We may cancel and fully refund an order if a product is unavailable, mispriced, or if fraud is suspected.
• International orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are the buyer’s responsibility — see the Shipping Policy.

4. Free Tools: Simulator & AI Project Builder

The online simulator and AI Project Builder are provided free of charge, as-is, without uptime guarantees. Fair use applies. You agree not to:

• Abuse, overload, scrape at scale, or attempt to disrupt the services;
• Use the tools to design, compile or distribute malware or firmware intended to harm devices or networks;
• Misrepresent AI-generated output as safety-certified engineering work.

We may rate-limit or block usage that degrades the service for others.

5. AI-Generated Content — Verify Before You Build

The AI Builder compiles every generated project for real before showing a Verified badge — Verified means it compiles and runs in the simulator, not that it is safe for every physical setup. Always double-check pin assignments, voltage levels and current ratings against the datasheet of your actual components before applying power. You are responsible for what you build.

6. Safety & Intended Use

• Kits are low-voltage (5V / 3.3V DC) hobby and educational electronics. They are not toys — they contain small parts.
• Some projects interface with real-world devices (e.g. a garage door). Follow the printed guide, use the supplied parts, and never connect a kit to mains voltage.
• Kits are not certified for medical, safety-critical, or life-support applications.

7. Intellectual Property

• Site content, guides, photos and branding are © sensbench. Do not republish them commercially without permission.
• Kit firmware is open source (ESPHome-based YAML/Arduino, linked from each kit page) — you may study, modify and reflash it freely. The simulator builds on an AGPLv3 open-source emulation engine; we honor and contribute back to those licenses.
• What you create with the simulator or AI Builder — your circuits, your code — is yours.

8. Warranty Disclaimer

Hardware is covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee and will arrive working — that we stand behind. Beyond that, the site, the free tools and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, sensbench is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost data, lost profits, or damage arising from circuits you build). Our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of sensbench is established, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country gives you a different venue.

11. Changes & Contact
