Free Arduino Mega 2560 Simulator — 54 Pins in the Browser

Run Arduino Mega 2560 sketches in the browser when the Uno runs out of pins: the ATmega2560 brings 54 digital I/O, 16 analog inputs, four hardware serial ports and 256 KB of flash. LED chases across many pins, multi-serial control and motor drivers — the projects that made the Mega the workhorse board.

What you get

  • 54 digital pins — LED arrays and multi-channel control without port expanders
  • 16 analog inputs — a sensor hub's worth of ADC channels
  • Four hardware serial ports — multi-device UART without SoftwareSerial
  • 256 KB flash — room for large sketches the Uno cannot hold
  • Same real compilation — arduino:avr:mega core via arduino-cli

Supported targets

Arduino Mega 2560 arduino:avr:mega
Digital I/O 54 pins
Analog inputs 16 channels
Hardware serial 4 ports
Flash 256 KB

FAQ

When should I choose a Mega over an Uno?

When the pin count or flash is the limit: LED arrays, multi-sensor hubs, four UART devices at once. The Mega costs more and is physically bigger; the simulator lets you try the same sketch on both before buying either.

Do the extra serial ports work in the simulator?

Yes — the Mega's four USARTs are modeled, and the serial examples drive them with the standard Serial/Serial1/Serial2/Serial3 API. The multi-serial example shows the pattern.
